Religious community of Sephardic Jews condemns New York mayor's statements on Azerbaijan
The religious community of Sephardic Jews strongly rejects the recent statements by New York Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani about Azerbaijan and its Karabakh region.
This was stated by the chairman of the religious community of Sephardic Jews of Azerbaijan, Rabbi Zamir Isayev, in his account on the social network X.
He noted that Karabakh is an internationally recognized part of Azerbaijan. Isayev described Mamdani's statements regarding Azerbaijan's restoration of state sovereignty as false, provocative, and harmful to peace.
“While Azerbaijan and Armenia are moving toward long-awaited peace, public officials must speak accurately, thoughtfully, and responsibly, rather than inciting hostility.
We stand for truth, peace, interfaith respect, and the territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan,” Isayev emphasized in his post.
