"No one can hinder us, no one can stop us." Four years pass since Operation Revenge
Today marks 4 years since Operation Revenge, brilliantly carried out by the Azerbaijani Army in response to Armenian provocations.
On August 3, 2022, members of illegal Armenian armed formations on the territory of Azerbaijan, where the Russian peacekeeping contingent (RPC) is temporarily stationed, once again grossly violated the provisions of the trilateral Statement of November 10, 2020.
As a result of terrorist and provocative actions against units of the Azerbaijani Army, our serviceman, soldier Kazimov Anar Rustam oglu, became a martyr.
In addition, members of the illegal Armenian armed formations attempted to seize the Gyrkhgyz height, located on the mountain range covering the territory of the Kalbajar and Lachin districts, and to establish new combat positions there.
During the retaliatory Operation Revenge, carried out by units of the Azerbaijani Army, the Gyrkhgyz height, as well as the Sarybaba height and a number of other strategically dominant heights along the Karabakh ridge of the Greater Caucasus, were taken under control.
As reported by the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan, within the framework of the operation several combat positions of the Armenian illegal armed formations were destroyed, and an airstrike was carried out on a military unit in the settlement of Yukhary Oratag of the former Aghdara district. As a result, manpower, several D-30 howitzers, military transport vehicles and a large batch of ammunition of the Armenian illegal armed formations were destroyed.
The President of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev, characterizing Operation Revenge, stated that Azerbaijan avenged our martyr and severely punished the opposing side: "Everyone saw and must see that the blood of our martyrs did not remain on the ground."
The head of state emphasized that Operation Revenge, which lasted several hours, was a punitive measure. He noted that the blood of the Azerbaijani martyr cost the enemies dearly and they must not forget about this. "If such a provocation is committed once again, the response will be the same. No one can hinder us, no one can stop us," President Ilham Aliyev stated.
