Paintings worth €9 million stolen from Renoir museum in France
The value of the paintings stolen from the museum of the French impressionist Auguste Renoir in Cagnes-sur-Mer near Nice in southern France is estimated at €9 million.
This was reported by the TF1 television channel, citing the mayor's office.
The perpetrators stole four paintings, but dropped one of them while fleeing. Which paintings are involved has not been reported.
The museum displays 13 paintings by Renoir, as well as works by other artists, in particular Aristide Maillol, Raoul Dufy and Pierre Bonnard.
