Sausage, frankfurters and odor in the classroom: what children can and cannot bring from home
Schools from time to time discuss various issues related to students' meals during breaks.
As BAKU.WS reports, some products brought from home to school that have a strong odor may cause inconvenience to other students.
This mainly concerns sausage, frankfurters and other meat products, as well as certain hot and cold dishes whose smell lingers in the classroom for a long time. In such cases, the problem is connected not only with the type of food, but also with the fact that it is eaten in the classroom, creating discomfort for the other schoolchildren.
On the other hand, students' nutrition throughout the day is also an important issue from the point of view of their health. What products students take with them to school, the conditions in which they are stored, the products considered suitable for consumption inside the school, as well as the rules applied in this area by educational institutions, also raise questions among parents.
In particular, on social media one can come across discussions about food choices in schools, the products children bring in their backpacks, and the culture of eating in the classroom. This topic has become a reason to once again put on the agenda the existing rules for student nutrition in schools, the requirements of educational institutions' internal regulations, and the choice of products suitable for children.
It is interesting what requirements exist regarding the food that schoolchildren bring with them. Are there any restrictions on consuming in classrooms products whose smell may disturb other students?
In response to a request from BAKU.WS, the State Agency for Preschool and General Education (MÜTDA) reported that current legislation contains no regulatory requirements governing the consumption of food in classrooms:
"At the same time, we note that, taking into account such factors as creating disturbances for other students, hygiene, allergies, odor, etc., schools may establish internal rules concerning the consumption of food in classrooms."
