Guinea minister: Social housing must be resilient to climate change

Providing the world with housing means guaranteeing that every citizen, wherever they are, has access to decent living conditions.

As reported by 1news.az, this was stated by Muhamed Lamine Si Vanne, Minister of Urban Planning, Housing and Territorial Development of the Republic of Guinea in West Africa, while answering journalists' questions at the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku.

"However, when addressing housing issues, it is also necessary to take infrastructure development into account in order to integrate the Sustainable Development Goals while preserving the environment.

Today there was heavy rain in Azerbaijan — this is truly a blessing for us. It reflects the prosperity and positive atmosphere prevailing in Azerbaijan.

In addition, Azerbaijan is a vivid example of a country that is fulfilling not only development goals but also the commitments made in Nairobi at the African Forum held there last month.

Today we are here with great enthusiasm to strengthen the link between the resilience of social housing and environmental protection in the face of climate change," the minister noted.
