Earth to be hit by magnetic storm

Today, high solar activity is expected.

This is reported by 1news.az, citing the Department of Astrophysics of the Faculty of Physics at Baku State University (BSU).

Along with regular class C flares (weak), class M flares (R1–R2, from weak to moderate) occurred on the Sun, as well as a coronal mass ejection (CME). In connection with this, it is predicted that the plasma flow will pass near Earth in mid-June.

Today after 15:00, a geomagnetic storm of level G1 (Kp index=5) will begin, which will last until the morning of June 5. It is predicted that at midnight (during the period from 00:00 to 03:00 on June 5) the storm's power will increase to 6 points on the Kp index.

After 09:00 on June 5, the geomagnetic background will return to a calm level. This space phenomenon may affect the operation of devices in near-Earth orbit.
