Galuzin: Russia ready to facilitate Azerbaijan’s rapprochement with EAEU

Russia is ready to help Azerbaijan get closer to the Eurasian Economic Union and would like to see this country among the shareholders of the Eurasian Development Bank.

This was stated by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Mikhail Galuzin.

"We are ready to facilitate in every way Azerbaijan’s rapprochement with this integration association (EAEU — TASS note), since this would, in our opinion, contribute to the further strengthening of the already established economic ties in the common Eurasian space for us," the deputy minister said. According to him, such rapprochement would also "have a good positive effect on the economy of Azerbaijan, since the country would gain access to the advantages of the common market of goods and would be able to increase cooperation in the field of transport, services and investments."

"We would like to see Azerbaijan among the shareholders of the Eurasian Development Bank and believe that such a step would open the way to financing large projects in the republic at the expense of the bank’s funds," Galuzin noted.
