In Goychay, sale of large batch of smuggled drugs stopped

During an operation conducted by officers of the Goychay district police department, the sale of a large batch of drugs smuggled into the country was prevented.

As reported by the Sheki regional group of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, during operational measures, 22-year-old Huseyn Aliyev and his peer Telman Mehtiyev were detained. More than 8 kilograms of marijuana and about 1 kilogram of opium were found and seized from them. The detainees admitted that they acquired the drugs for the purpose of sale, reports 1news.az.

A criminal case has been initiated into the incident.

By court decision, both individuals have been placed in custody as a preventive measure.
