Rubio says the Greenland deal secures U.S. interests in the Arctic

The United States proceeds from the premise that the agreements on Greenland with Denmark definitively secure Washington's security interests in the Arctic.

This position was set out by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio. According to him, the agreements "fully address [U.S.] national security concerns regarding Greenland," and also "definitively secure U.S. security interests in the Arctic."

"Greenland will always be a strategic defense zone of North America, and [the presence] there or in adjacent areas of any adversaries is unacceptable," Rubio wrote on X.
