Armenian diaspora accuses Pashinyan of attempting to split the youth

The visit of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to members of the All-Armenian Student Association in New York has drawn criticism from the All-Armenian Council for the Defense of the Armenian Church.

The council's chairman, Harutyun Agha-Sarkissian, stated that Pashinyan's promotion of the concept of "real Armenia" and the government's political agenda are creating a "dangerous dividing line" within the diaspora's youth structure: "The All-Armenian Student Association was one of the few venues where young Armenians with the most diverse political views could peacefully coexist. Introducing ideological division into such structures threatens to destroy all-Armenian unity from within."
