'This feeling of immense pride': Farman Gasanov comments on UFC victory in Baku

"This is my first fight and first victory on my homeland. This is a feeling of immense pride. Thinking about victory is pride. I want to thank my people, thank you to the Azerbaijani people!"

As 1news.az correspondent reports, Azerbaijani fighter Farman Gasanov said this while answering journalists' questions after becoming the winner of the fight at the UFC Fight Night tournament held at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku.

According to the fighter, throughout all three rounds he tried to control his opponent: "For me there is always only victory. Thank God, we finished this fight with a victory." F. Gasanov also admitted that he thought about an early finish, but some difficulties arose in the process: "I tried to finish him on the ground, but it was destined to go all three rounds. And yet, based on the results of three rounds, we won." In conclusion, the athlete added that his contract with UFC is for four fights.
