Inter Miami forward Lionel Messi has shown the kit for his farewell match with the Argentina national team.
On October 6, the 39-year-old footballer will play for the national team for the last time – against Benin at the Monumental Antonio Vespucio Liberti stadium in Buenos Aires. Earlier, he announced the end of his international career.
Lionel posted a video on his Instagram in which he prepares his boots and changes one shirt for another.
He wrote: "The last match… A shirt for life."
On the kit for the farewell match, Messi's surname and the number 10 are made in gold. The "ten" is also framed by the Sun of May – one of Argentina's national symbols, placed on the country's flag.
It represents the Inca god Inti, and the symbol received the name "of May" in honor of the May Revolution of May 25, 1810, which proclaimed the independence of the Viceroyalty of the Río de la Plata from Spain. The version of the sun placed on the flag in 1818 is an exact copy of the sun from the first Argentine 8 escudos coin of 1813.
