Azerbaijani boxer becomes European champion

Azerbaijani boxer Subhan Mammadov became the European champion in the 50 kg weight category in the Bulgarian capital of Sofia.

The Azerbaijan Boxing Federation told Report about this.

In the final, the world and European (U-23) champion defeated Russia's Bair Batlaev — 4:1 (30:27, 29:28, 28:29, 30:27, 29:28).

Earlier, a member of the Azerbaijani national team, Saidjamshid Jafarov (75 kg), reached the final, beating Callum Makin (England) in the semifinal with a score of 4:1 (28:29, 30:27, 30:27, 29:28, 29:28). In the decisive bout, the Azerbaijani boxer will face Ismail Mutsolgov (Russia).

Amin Mammadzada (55 kg) became a bronze medalist of the European Championship.

Note that the day before, Muhammed Abdullayev (+90 kg) also won a bronze medal. On the last day of the tournament, September 25, along with Jafarov, Nabi Iskandarov (70 kg) will also compete in the final bout.
