Admission to classes with new learning model announced in Azerbaijan

Admissions are announced for students to general education institutions where a new specialized learning model will be applied in the 2026/2027 academic year.

As 1news.az reports, this statement was issued by the State Agency for Preschool and General Education.

It was noted that the new specialized learning model, covering grades 10–11, is designed to increase the effectiveness of the process of preparing students for higher education directly within the school.

The main goal is for students, without the need for additional classes (tutors), to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for admission to universities precisely through the enhanced and targeted educational process organized at the school. In this context, the development of special curricula and the organization of in-depth programs in subjects are being carried out in accordance with the requirements for admission to higher educational institutions.

In the current academic year, the new specialized learning model at the level of complete secondary education was organized in a total of 14 educational institutions. Under it, 1584 students are studying (1178 people in grade X and 406 people in grade XI), and 263 teachers selected on the basis of special criteria have been involved in the educational process.

Quality indicators of the educational process in educational institutions operating within the project are regularly monitored.

The analysis conducted for the period from September to December of the 2025/2026 academic year shows that the average monthly attendance of students in most schools ranged from 95–100%.

In addition, the analysis of the results of final exams of students studying under the new specialized model gives grounds to assert that the average score of all these institutions regularly exceeded the overall average score for the corresponding city. Indicators below 100 points in all institutions were minimized. Taking into account the positive results achieved, it was deemed appropriate to gradually expand the network of schools operating under this model, bringing their number to 100. Those wishing to study under the new specialized model can contact regional education departments for detailed information.
