Commander of Turkish Land Forces Arrives in Nakhchivan

On March 11, a delegation led by the Commander of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of the Turkish Republic, Army General Metin Tokel, visited the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

As reported by the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan, the guests first visited the monument to the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, located on the main square of Nakhchivan city, expressing deep respect for the memory of the outstanding figure.

The delegation also visited the monument to the founder of the Turkish Republic, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, erected in Nakhchivan city, and paid tribute to his memory with respect.

As part of the visit, the guests visited the headquarters of the Separate Combined Arms Army. The Commander of the Separate Combined Arms Army, Lieutenant General Kanan Seyidov, met with the Commander of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of the Turkish Republic, Army General Metin Tokel. In accordance with protocol, a commemorative entry was made in the 'Book of Honorable Guests.' During the meeting, the parties held a detailed exchange of views on issues of mutual interest.

In the briefing room, information was presented on the history of the establishment of the Separate Combined Arms Army, its activities, ongoing reforms, and the goals ahead.

Army General Metin Tokel noted that Turkey always stands by Azerbaijan to strengthen stability in the region and fully ensure security, and in accordance with the provisions of the historic Shusha Declaration, is ready to provide any military assistance. He also emphasized that the relations between the two countries have a solid foundation in terms of strategic and military partnership.

In conclusion, issues related to the planning of joint military exercises and the implementation of mutual experience exchange were discussed.
