Attempt to smuggle prohibited substances from Iran to Azerbaijan using drone

An attempt to smuggle more than 11 kilograms of marijuana into Azerbaijan was thwarted at the state border.

As 1news.az reports, this was reported by the State Border Service (SBS).

According to the agency, as a result of border-search and operational measures carried out in the area of the Lankaran border detachment of the Border Troops Command of the SBS, the transfer of 11 kg 500 g of the narcotic substance marijuana from Iran to Azerbaijan was prevented.

It is noted that the drugs were planned to be delivered to the territory of Azerbaijan using an unmanned aerial vehicle.

Operational-investigative measures are ongoing regarding this fact.
