The city that will host the Eurovision Song Contest 2027 has been named - VIDEO
The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and Bulgarian National Television (BNT) have announced the city that will host the 71st Eurovision Song Contest in 2027.
It is Burgas on the Black Sea coast — as 1news.az reports with reference to Eurovision.tv, the contest will be held at Arena Burgas, which opened in 2023. This will be the first Eurovision in history to take place in Bulgaria.
The first semifinal will take place on May 11, the second on May 13, and the grand final will be held on May 15, 2027.
Burgas was selected following a competitive bidding process among four Bulgarian cities. The selection took into account the capabilities of the arena and technical infrastructure, the availability of hotels, transport accessibility and international connections, as well as the readiness of the city authorities to host the contest.
As part of Eurovision 2027, events will be held not only in Burgas. Sofia, Plovdiv and Varna, which also bid to host the contest, will be involved in the accompanying program.
The organizers note that Burgas will make it possible to create a special atmosphere for the contest thanks to its location on the Black Sea, its beaches, parks and the city's rich cultural life.
During the contest week, the Eurovision Village and EuroClub will also operate in Burgas, and a large-scale cultural and entertainment program will take place.
As a reminder, Bulgaria won the right to host Eurovision 2027 after DARA's victory at the contest in Vienna in 2026 with the song "Bangaranga."
