Nepal's authorities put flood damage at $2.56 billion
Damage from the flooding in Nepal amounts to at least $2.56 billion, media report.
As stated by the head of Nepal's national disaster risk reduction and management authority, Dharmu Raj Upreti, the sum includes costs for the early recovery stage during the first four months, including road construction, the setting up of temporary housing sites, and the provision of drinking water and electricity.
According to him, the damage caused by the disaster can be estimated at approximately $2.56 billion.
