Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Rebecca Grynspan, the Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), who arrived in Azerbaijan to participate in the 13th Baku Global Forum.

During the meeting, the parties discussed various aspects of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the UN, as well as regional and international issues, including the situation in the Middle East and the impact of the war on the global economy and trade, as reported by 1news.az from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.

The interlocutors exchanged views on Azerbaijan’s role in ensuring regional and global energy security, promoting trade and investment, sustainable development, economic diversification, and the implementation of projects in the fields of communications and transport.

The head of Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry informed Grynspan about the country’s policies on expanding international trade relations, developing transport and logistics capabilities, implementing traditional and alternative energy projects, and advancing international trade routes. The importance of strengthening Azerbaijan’s role as a transit and logistics hub and fostering cooperation within the framework of the Middle Corridor was emphasized.

The parties also discussed the consequences of escalating tensions in the Middle East and expressed concern over the current situation.
