Completely unacceptable: Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry on the burning of Turkey’s state flag
We strongly condemn the burning of the state flag of Turkey during the 'torchlight procession' held on April 23 in the capital of Armenia, Yerevan.
The Armenian government should have promptly stopped such a campaign, which embodies deep-rooted ethnic hatred, and taken appropriate security measures.
This was stated in a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan regarding the burning of the Turkish flag in Armenia, as reported by 1news.az.
Allowing such unacceptable acts under the pretext of democratic norms, freedom of assembly, and expression of opinion is completely unacceptable.
Such actions, which are an open manifestation of the still strong revanchist and fascist sentiments based on ethnic hatred in Armenia, must be condemned at the international level and stopped. We call on the Armenian government to hold accountable those who committed these acts,
