Meeting of Milli Majlis begins with condemnation of European Parliament resolution
The regular plenary meeting of the spring session of the Milli Majlis has begun.
As reported by Report, the agenda of the meeting includes a total of 9 issues, including the ratification of the 'Agreement on Cooperation in the Exchange of Information during the Enforcement of Judicial Acts, Acts of Other Authorized Bodies and Officials.'
The meeting is chaired by the Speaker of the Parliament, Sahiba Gafarova.
'The Milli Majlis will also address an issue related to the anti-Azerbaijani activities of the European Parliament,' the Speaker said.
Gafarova added that over the past 10 years, the European Parliament has pursued an anti-Azerbaijani policy.
'After the Second Karabakh War, the anti-Azerbaijani rhetoric in the European Parliament has noticeably intensified: since then, 13 resolutions targeting Azerbaijan have been adopted. Such activity clearly demonstrates the criteria guiding this structure. The Milli Majlis cannot remain silent in response to the biased activities of the European Parliament against our state and will undoubtedly express its firm position on this matter.'
During the meeting, a special commission was formed to prepare the text of the corresponding parliamentary resolution, chaired by the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament, Ziyafet Askerov.
As a reminder, the European Union Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Marijana Kujundžić, was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today, where she was handed a note of protest regarding the European Parliament resolution of April 30, which contains unfounded and biased provisions against Azerbaijan.
