Repatriation of Azerbaijani citizens from Syria carried out

As a result of phased and coordinated measures taken by the government of Azerbaijan, on April 21, the repatriation of 5 Azerbaijani citizens (2 women and 3 children) from Syria to the country via Turkey was carried out.

This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.

First, the location, identity, and citizenship of the repatriates were determined, after which their transfer to the territory of Turkey was organized.

Representatives of the relevant state authorities responsible for the repatriation of Azerbaijani citizens from Iraq and Syria were sent to Istanbul, where a preliminary medical and psychological examination of the repatriates was conducted.

The Embassy of Azerbaijan in Turkey and the Consulate General in Istanbul carried out the necessary coordination work, provided our citizens with return certificates to Azerbaijan and airline tickets. With the accompaniment of delegation representatives, the repatriation of the aforementioned citizens to the country was carried out.

In the future, appropriate measures for the social rehabilitation and reintegration of the repatriates into society are planned to be implemented.
