Lavrov: Caspian should remain a zone of peace and cooperation

"The aggression by the US and Israel against Iran has negatively affected the Caspian Sea; the strike on the infrastructure of the Anzali marine port on the Caspian was unacceptable and impermissible."

This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov following talks with Kazakhstan's Foreign Minister Yermek Kosherbayev.

"We are forced to note that the unprovoked armed aggression by the US and Israel against Iran has most negatively impacted both the Caspian Sea and its coastline. The Caspian should remain a zone of peace and cooperation," he emphasized.

"And, of course, the strike by the anti-Iranian coalition on March 18 on the infrastructure of the Anzali marine port, which serves the trade and logistical interests of all five Caspian states, was both unacceptable and impermissible," Lavrov added.
