Rubio informed Trump about Russia's steps after conversation with Lavrov
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that after a telephone conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov he informed U.S. President Donald Trump about the actions of the Russian side.
According to Rubio, the Russian side sent notifications to foreign diplomatic missions with a warning about increased danger in Kyiv and a recommendation to evacuate personnel.
"They sent notifications to all embassies," the head of the U.S. State Department said. He added that, in his opinion, Lavrov contacted him personally to convey the corresponding message directly to the American leadership.
Rubio also noted that the situation in Kyiv has remained dangerous for several years already.
The Secretary of State reported that the conversation with Lavrov took place on May 25 and concerned not only the situation around diplomatic warnings but also a number of other issues. According to him, Russian President Vladimir Putin probably asked Lavrov to convey a certain message directly to the U.S. President.
"What I did," Rubio said, commenting on the transmission of information to Donald Trump.
Currently, Marco Rubio is on a visit to India.
