Four students were injured as a result of a shooting near a high school in Manisa Province in western Turkey.

Police are working to establish the identity of the attacker and the circumstances of the incident, TGRT TV channel reported.

According to the channel, the incident occurred near the Niyazi Üzmez Anatolian Technical High School in the Turgutlu district of Manisa Province. An unidentified individual opened fire with a shotgun near the educational institution for reasons yet to be determined. As a result, four students were wounded.

Following reports of the shooting, police officers and medical personnel arrived at the school. The victims received first aid at the scene and were taken to the hospital.

Police have cordoned off the area around the school and launched an investigation. Law enforcement agencies are clarifying the circumstances of the shooting and working to identify the suspect.
