Barrack: S-400s are incompatible with American weaponry

U.S. Ambassador to Ankara Tom Barrack stated that the S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems purchased by Turkey from Russia cannot be used together with American weaponry.

According to him, the U.S. Congress is currently looking for a solution to the problem that has arisen.

"The process of Congress reviewing the CAATSA issue is continuing. Major changes have taken place in the defense and weapons spheres. The use of the Russian S-400 system is absolutely incompatible with the American one. We have encountered such an issue for the first time. Congress needs to work on solving the S-400 problem. The issue can be resolved, and Congress is working on it. But this is not a critical problem in relations between our countries," the diplomat, who is currently in New York, told the CNN Türk television channel.

Barrack noted that he does not see any problems for Turkey in terms of its defensive capabilities.

"The Turkish defense industry is very strong. In addition, close relations have developed between our presidents," the ambassador added.
