Ratcliffe met with Zelensky at Shannon Airport

The director of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), John Ratcliffe, met with Volodymyr Zelensky at Ireland's Shannon Airport.

According to one of the agency's sources, the meeting took place before September 21. Another source specified that the talks were held while Ratcliffe's and Zelensky's planes were being refueled. The content of their conversation has not been disclosed.

Earlier this month, the Financial Times reported that the head of the CIA intends to play a more active role in negotiations on settling the conflict in Ukraine. Later, the head of the intelligence agency's press service, Liz Lyons, stated that the information published by the newspaper «does not correspond to reality».

On August 25, the CIA director visited Moscow. Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said that Ratcliffe's visit was connected with contacts between the intelligence services of the two countries.
