Roses, vegetables and more: Armenia redirects exports to Europe amid Russia's restrictions
The first batches of greenhouse roses and vegetables from Armenia, which have been restricted in Russia, have been redirected to other countries.
This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to journalists during election campaigning.
When asked to specify which countries, Pashinyan replied: "These are both European Union countries and others. When the goods are delivered, we will say which ones."
According to him, several business delegations are already working on selling the goods, so "there will be no unsold goods."
On May 30, 2026, Rosselkhoznadzor introduced temporary restrictions on the import of fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, green crops, and strawberries originating from and shipped from Armenia. The agency explained that the decision was made due to increased cases of violations in the supply of Armenian fruit and vegetable products to Russia and to ensure phytosanitary well-being.
From June 2, Rosselkhoznadzor restricted the import of stone fruits — cherries, sweet cherries, apricots, plums, peaches, nectarines — and grapes from Armenia.
