Armenia charges Dashnak deputy Sagatelyan
Armenia's Investigative Committee (IC) has brought charges under two articles of the Criminal Code against deputy from the largest opposition parliamentary faction "Armenia," member of the Supreme Body of the ARF "Dashnaktsutyun" Ishkhan Sagatelyan, whose house was searched in the morning.
"According to a report received by the IC from the Service for the Enforcement of Judicial Acts, on the basis of a writ of execution issued by the Anti-Corruption Court on January 5, 2026, I. S. and his wife were prohibited from taking any actions related to the property belonging to them. In addition, the court decision must impose an arrest on the property belonging to I. S. and L. Kh. in the amount of 258.15 million drams (about $700 thousand) <...> On April 28, 2026, I. S. submitted a declaration, which, among other things, indicated the property subject to confiscation. An arrest was imposed on this property," the report says.
It is also indicated that on February 2, 2026, Sagatelyan evaded submitting a property declaration. On this basis, a criminal case was initiated under articles providing for punishment for an illegal act in relation to property under arrest and the debtor's evasion from submitting a declaration on the composition, quantity and location of property belonging to him on the basis of ownership rights.
It is reported that a search was conducted, during which cash in foreign currency and gold jewelry were found.
