Millions of residents in Brazil received alerts about an alien invasion
Residents of several cities in Brazil received notifications about an alien attack from the country's national civil defense.
This was reported by Secretary for Protection and Civil Defense Volnei Wolf, according to Agência Brasil.
According to him, the state emergency population alert system was subjected to a hacker attack. As a result, residents of the country received notifications urging them to "protect themselves" from an alien attack. Some messages contained spelling errors.
"Beware: alien attack. People, we have arrived," one of the messages said.
Brazil's National Civil Defense reported on the social network Facebook (owner company Meta recognized as extremist and banned in Russia) that after the hack, the alert system was disabled. The warnings were sent remotely by a person not affiliated with the agency.
On June 17, Cybernews reported that hackers stole a batch of condoms and lubricants worth $1.7 million intended for the Walmart chain, using a complex scheme involving phishing, fake brokers, and cargo redirection. The incident affected Global Protection Corp., the manufacturer of ONE Flex condoms and a subsidiary of the world's largest contraceptive manufacturer, Karex.
