Gennaro Gattuso headed Lazio

Italian coach Gennaro Gattuso has taken charge of Rome's Lazio, the club's press service reports. Previously, Gattuso worked with the Italian national team and left the national team after a loss in the final of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers to the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team — 1:1 (1:4 on penalties).

At the end of the 2025/2026 season, Lazio finished ninth in the Italian Serie A with 54 points. Inter Milan became the national champion. Napoli took second place, and Roma completed the top three.

The 48-year-old Gattuso previously worked at Croatian Hajduk, Marseille, Valencia, Napoli, and Milan. As a coach, Gennaro won the Italian Cup in the 2019/2020 season.
