India restricts Telegram operations for a week
Indian authorities have blocked Telegram until June 22.
This is reported by the newspaper The Times of India.
According to the National Testing Agency (National Testing Agency, NTA), this measure is intended to protect candidates retaking the exam on June 21 from fraudulent schemes operating on the platform.
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology issued the corresponding order on Tuesday in accordance with Article 69A of the Information Technology Act.
It is noted that the second order requires the messenger to disable the message editing function in India until June 30. As NTA specialists reported, fraudsters used the tool to insert exam questions into old messages and presented this as evidence of an information leak.
