Strike on school in Minab occurred due to US intelligence errors
US intelligence made several miscalculations due to a lack of coordination between agencies and inaccuracies in the internal data collection system, which led to the strike on a school in the city of Minab at the end of February that killed 175 people.
Bloomberg reported this, citing sources.
It is noted that a US intelligence analyst pointed out in the agency's internal unofficial system back in 2019 changes at military facilities in Minab and drew attention to the fact that one of the Pentagon's potential targets was in fact a school.
Bloomberg claims that due to the fragmentation of databases, information about the location of targets never reached the command, according to an unpublished Pentagon investigation.
The investigation into the strike on the school at the level of the US defense department was launched in April, but it has now been effectively frozen after being transferred to the country's Central Command, the agency added.
On February 28, Iranian authorities announced that the US and Israel had struck an elementary school for girls in Minab. 175 people were killed, including 168 students, and another 95 were injured. The head of the US administration later blamed the Iranian armed forces for the attack, without providing evidence. It later emerged that fragments of the missile found at the strike site bore markings of an American munition.
