Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced the start of the election campaign for the June parliamentary elections in the republic from May 8 and stated that most government members will take leave during this period.

The statement was made by Pashinyan at today's, the last government meeting in Armenia before the parliamentary elections scheduled for June 7. The event was broadcast by local television channels.

"Starting tomorrow, the election campaign for the parliamentary elections begins. I, and essentially most members of the government, will be on leave to participate in the election campaign," said the Armenian Prime Minister.

At the same time, he assured that their biggest priority will be to conduct these elections in the spirit of international democratic standards, ensuring the free expression of the Armenian people's will while preventing any illegal influence on voters. He also expressed confidence that the Armenian authorities are now more capable than ever of holding elections that meet international democratic standards.

The regular parliamentary elections in Armenia are scheduled for June 7 of this year. Nineteen political forces have submitted applications to the Central Electoral Commission of Armenia to participate. According to the list, 17 parties and 2 party blocs will take part in the elections.

According to the Central Electoral Commission, the participants include the "Civil Contract" party led by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, as well as two blocs: "Armenia" ("Hayastan") led by former President of the country Robert Kocharyan, and "Strong Armenia" led by Narek Karapetyan. The "Strong Armenia" bloc, established by Russian businessman Samvel Karapetyan, includes the parties "Strong Armenia," "New Era," and "United Armenians."
