U.S. and Iran reach agreement on frozen assets
The U.S. and Iran have reached an agreement on the issue of Tehran's frozen assets.
Al Jazeera reports this on May 25, citing a source familiar with the course of the negotiations.
According to the source, a high-ranking Iranian delegation arrived in the capital Doha, which included chief negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, and Central Bank head Abdolnaser Hemmati.
During the negotiations, issues related to the situation around the Strait of Hormuz and Iran's nuclear program, including highly enriched uranium, were discussed. Special attention was paid to Iran's frozen assets abroad.
The publication's source notes that Qatar's mediation allowed the parties to reach mutual understanding on this issue.
