In the US state of Utah, a state of emergency has been declared due to a rapidly spreading forest fire, the area of which has increased to 290 square kilometers in one day. Due to strong winds and extremely low air humidity, the flames are rapidly engulfing new territories. The regional authorities have begun evacuating local residents from dangerous zones, while aerial firefighting has been temporarily suspended because aviation cannot operate in difficult weather conditions.

The elements have already caused serious damage to the Eagle Point ski resort. In a number of areas of the state, heavy smoke has been recorded, due to which thick smoke has completely covered the sun, and ash has begun to fall in populated areas.
