Memorandum between US and Iran will consist of 14 points
Details of the draft framework agreement between Iran and the US on conflict resolution have become known.
As reported by the Tasnim agency, progress emerged after a visit to Qatar by Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Baqer Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
However, it is noted that the document has not yet been fully agreed upon, so Tehran will not take any steps without reliable confirmation.
"Despite overall progress over the past 2-3 days, disagreements still exist on some aspects, and the exchange of messages continues," the message says.
According to the preliminary draft memorandum of 14 points, Tehran undertakes to restore commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz to pre-war levels within a month, and the US to withdraw its military forces from the area around Iran and lift the naval blockade.
It also implies an announcement of the cessation of hostilities on all fronts, including Lebanon, the unfreezing of $12 billion from Iran's frozen assets abroad (out of a total of $24 billion). Shipping management in the Strait of Hormuz will be carried out jointly by Iran and Oman.
After that, a 60-day ceasefire period (with the possibility of extension) is provided for negotiations on the nuclear issue. At the first stage, Iran has not assumed obligations on issues of the nuclear program and the cessation of uranium enrichment. "Sanctions preventing the sale of Iranian oil and petrochemical products must be lifted during the negotiations," the message emphasizes.
It is noted that after resolving existing disagreements, the memorandum must be agreed upon by both sides, since a unilateral US statement may be completely inaccurate.
