Iran reports that Pakistan has opened its ports to Tehran amid U.S. blockade

Pakistan has helped Iran cope with the consequences of a U.S. naval blockade by opening ports, terminals, and transport corridors for cargo transportation.

This was announced by Feda-Hossein Maleki, a member of the Iranian parliament's committee on national security and foreign policy.

"The Americans, as they believe, have increased their military presence, surrounding the coast and the Strait of Hormuz to cut off our supply routes and paralyze the country's economy. However, in response to these actions, the Pakistani government, as a strategic move, has ordered the opening of six vital trade corridors for Iran, including ports, maritime routes, and land terminals," he said, as quoted by the press service of the Iranian parliament (Majlis).

According to him, Islamabad has allowed Iran to use the ports of Qasim, Karachi, and Gwadar, which have effectively replaced the Jebel Ali port in the UAE, previously used by Iranian vessels.

U.S. forces began a naval blockade of Iran on April 13. The U.S. Central Command stated that they intend to block the movement of all ships heading to the ports of the Islamic Republic, as well as those attempting to depart from its shores.
