Prince Harry and Meghan Markle plan to temporarily return to the United Kingdom

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are planning to temporarily move to the United Kingdom with their children for a period ranging from several months to a year.

According to media reports citing sources close to the couple, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have not yet made a final decision on the exact length of their stay. People in their circle describe them as an «international couple» who also own property in the United States and Portugal, and do not rule out that they may later head to Canada or Australia.

The family plans to arrive in the United Kingdom as early as August. The couple's children — seven-year-old Archie and five-year-old Lilibet Diana — have been enrolled in a private school, where they will begin their studies in September. At the same time, Harry and Meghan do not plan to resume performing official royal duties.

In 2020, the couple gave up their status as senior members of the royal family, losing the ability to officially represent the monarch, perform ceremonial functions, and use the title of Their Royal Highnesses. After moving to the United States, the couple has been living in Santa Barbara and pays for private security services on their own.
