It has become known under which article Serzh Sargsyan is charged - UPDATED
As part of the criminal proceedings initiated against the second President, Robert Kocharyan, at the Anti-Corruption Committee, charges have also been brought against former President Serzh Sargsyan under Part 2 of Article 308 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia adopted on April 18, 2003 (corresponding to Point 5 of Part 2 of Article 441 of the current Criminal Code — abuse of power or official authority or the influence conditioned by them by an official, or exceeding authority).
This was reported to Armenia News - NEWS.am by the Anti-Corruption Committee of the Republic of Armenia.
Earlier, the Prosecutor General's Office released a lengthy statement which, in particular, noted:
"On August 24, 2026, the prosecutor initiated public criminal prosecution against the second President of the Republic of Armenia, R.K. (Robert Kocharyan — ed.), for abuse of official authority (3 counts), receiving a bribe on a particularly large scale (2 counts), and money laundering on a particularly large scale (4 counts).
The prosecutor also initiated public criminal prosecution against 9 other individuals, including the son of the second President of the Republic of Armenia, R.K. — S.K. (Sedrak Kocharyan); former Defense Minister of the Republic of Armenia, S.S. (Serzh Sargsyan); former Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, A.M. (Andranik Margaryan); former Mayor of Yerevan, G.B. (Gagik Beglaryan); participant of 'Local Developers' LLC, S.M. (Samvel Mayrapetyan); as well as A.O. (Aramayis Vorskanyan), who served as director of the Kond private housing estate and managed the construction company 'Aygedzor' LLC; A.O.'s wife, and his two daughters.
This morning at around 07:00, law enforcement officers broke into the home of MP Levon Kocharyan, and investigative authorities delivered Robert Kocharyan to the Anti-Corruption Committee. It later became known that Robert Kocharyan and his eldest son, Sedrak Kocharyan, have been detained.
In addition, early in the morning, tax authorities sealed the Yerevan office of the Toyota company.
As part of the criminal proceedings, investigative and procedural actions are being conducted at the Orange Fitness club and the Play City entertainment center, as well as in the apartments of their directors. The Kocharyan family holds shares in these companies".

Former Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan is a defendant in the case of another former head of state, Robert Kocharyan.
Armenian media report this, citing the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Armenia.
In addition to Kocharyan, criminal cases have been opened against nine more people: his son Sedrak Kocharyan, former Defense Minister Serzh Sargsyan (who was president of Armenia in 2008-2018), former Prime Minister Andranik Margaryan (who died in 2007), former mayor of Yerevan Gagik Beglaryan, a representative of the company "Local Developers," the head of the construction company "Aygedzor," his wife and two daughters.

The third president of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, is at the Anti-Corruption Committee.
As Armenian Telegram channels report, Sargsyan told journalists outside the building of the Anti-Corruption Committee that so far he knows nothing.
According to their report, in addition to Robert Kocharyan, criminal prosecution has been initiated against nine more people, among them:
