Pashinyan addresses Azerbaijan and Turkey
After the announcement of the preliminary results of the parliamentary elections, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made an address in which he once again confirmed Yerevan's commitment to peace, regional cooperation, and the normalization of relations with neighboring states.
As Report reports, citing Armenian media, the Armenian prime minister stated that the position of the Armenian government regarding Turkey and Azerbaijan remains unchanged.
"The people of Armenia stand for peace, regional prosperity, and regional cooperation. I hope that this will be positively received by both Turkey and Azerbaijan," he noted.
According to the prime minister, one of Yerevan's key priorities remains the institutional strengthening of the peace process with Azerbaijan. He recalled that the parties have already agreed on the text of the peace treaty and now must proceed to its signing.
"As for Azerbaijan, as you know, we have a pre-agreed peace treaty. We must sign it," Pashinyan emphasized.
The head of the Armenian government also touched on Armenian-Turkish relations, expressing hope for further progress in the normalization process and the opening of the state border between the two countries.
In addition, Pashinyan positively assessed the latest steps in the transport sector and thanked for the decision to open the Akhalkalaki–Kars railway route for Armenian cargo.
