Two servicemen fall into a gorge in Kalbajar, one dies

In the Kalbajar district, at the Omar pass, while performing official duties, two Azerbaijani servicemen - Rajab Mansimli and Ilyas Osmanov fell into a gorge due to icy conditions and snow cover in the region, the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan reported.

The department noted that Osmanov with various injuries was evacuated to the nearest medical facility, his condition is stable.

"We regret to report that as a result of the incident, Mansimli Rajab Mirish oglu received injuries incompatible with life," the statement says.

The Ministry of Defense expressed condolences to the relatives of the deceased, wished recovery to the wounded.
An investigation is underway into the incident.
