Second year in a row: Armenia has not paid its membership fee to the CSTO

Armenia has not paid its membership fee to the CSTO in 2025.

This was stated by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan while presenting the annual report on the implementation of the state budget of the Armenian Foreign Ministry for 2025 in the National Assembly.

"We have not paid the membership fee for a simple reason — our participation in the organization simply did not exist," Mirzoyan said, according to Sputnik Armenia.

Recall that Armenia has frozen its participation in the CSTO since January 1, 2024.

On April 23, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that Armenia does not plan to activate participation in the CSTO.

On April 1, at a meeting in Moscow, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan exchanged assessments of Yerevan's relations with the CSTO.

Putin stated that on the issue of Armenia's claims against the organization, it is necessary to "put an end" and not turn it into an internal political topic against the backdrop of elections.

In response, Nikol Pashinyan noted that Armenia has actually suspended participation in CSTO events, since the authorities cannot explain to the public why the organization did not respond to the events of 2022 in accordance with its obligations.
