Iran states continuation of contacts with US
Iran continues to exchange messages with the US, but recent events are increasing distrust. This was stated by the representative of the Foreign Ministry of the Islamic Republic, Esmail Baghaei.
"These events definitely increase distrust. We are already exchanging messages with the American side under conditions of very strong suspicion. What has happened over the past 24 hours will only further aggravate this unfavorable situation in the diplomatic process," he said during a weekly press conference.
On the evening of June 7, Iran fired missiles at the northern regions of the Jewish state. The Israeli army stated that all missiles were intercepted. This occurred after Israel earlier on Sunday struck a Hezbollah facility in the suburbs of Beirut. According to the Israeli side, this attack was in response to Hezbollah shelling the northern regions of the Jewish state. In response to the Iranian strikes, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) carried out a series of strikes on the territory of the Islamic Republic that night.
