Cockroach party brings youth to protests in India
In India, mass youth protests continue, which erupted after alleged statements by Supreme Court Chief Justice Surya Kant, who is said to have compared part of the unemployed youth to "cockroaches."
After these reports appeared on social media, a movement called the "People's Cockroach Party" emerged, which soon became a symbol of youth protest and gained wide support in various regions of the country.
In addition, the protesters' discontent intensified amid accusations of exam material leaks during entrance tests for medical universities. Despite the cancellation of the initial exam and the holding of a retest, demonstrations have continued for the ninth day.
Participants in the actions demand the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, holding him responsible for the alleged violations in the organization of the exams.
During the protests, demonstrators used symbolic actions, including giving flowers to police officers, emphasizing the peaceful nature of the demonstrations. One of the movement's leaders, Abhijit Dipke, stated that the protests would continue until the education minister leaves his post.
