State Duma calls those leaving over mobilization rumors "unnecessary" for Russia

Those fleeing Russia because of rumors about mobilization are "not needed" by the country.

That is the opinion of Viktor Sobolev, a member of the State Duma's Defense Committee.
"If they dislike their homeland so much and are leaving for somewhere else based only on rumors, we simply do not need them," Viktor Sobolev said in a conversation with RTVI. That is precisely why citizens may "leave," the deputy believes.

In this way he commented on a Politico publication, which said that over the past week approximately 113,000 Russian citizens had allegedly crossed the Georgian border through the "Verkhny Lars" checkpoint. This route is attractive because entry into Georgia by land is possible for Russians without visa processing, the newspaper's journalists note. Deputy Chairman of the Government of North Ossetia-Alania Irbek Tomaev confirmed the foreign source's report, however his statement contained no information that this had happened because of rumors about mobilization.

The parliamentarian additionally denied information about a possible new wave of mobilization.
