ANSA: 43 people injured in Italy due to tornado and hail

43 people were injured, including with fractures, as a result of a tornado that struck the northern Italian city of Cremona the day before.

According to the ANSA agency, 10,000 cars were damaged by large hail, and hundreds of trees were uprooted.

The city's historical heritage sites were also damaged. In addition to the cathedral, 10 churches sustained various damage. Part of the tower of the municipal building, located in the city's most ancient palace, collapsed.

Eight families were evacuated from their homes. The city administration is holding an emergency meeting to determine emergency measures to deal with the aftermath of the natural disaster.

Italy is currently divided into two parts in terms of climate: in the north there are powerful thunderstorms, while in the south the African heat persists, with temperatures 12 degrees above normal.
