Ilham Aliyev to take part in the SCO summit
President Ilham Aliyev will take part in the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, which will be held in Bishkek.
This was reported by the press service of the President of Kyrgyzstan.
The summit is also expected to be attended by the leaders of 17 states and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
The heads of state will discuss current issues on the international and regional agenda, priority areas for the further development of the Organization, as well as prospects for deepening cooperation in the political, trade and economic, transport and logistics, digital, environmental, and cultural and humanitarian spheres.
Following the meeting, the Bishkek Declaration on the twenty-fifth anniversary of the SCO, as well as documents and decisions aimed at further strengthening multifaceted cooperation and improving the Organization's activities, will be signed, and a number of thematic statements by the heads of state will be adopted.
At the top-level meeting in the "SCO Plus" format in an expanded composition, an exchange of views will take place on issues of strengthening the central coordinating role of the UN and international law, as well as promoting sustainable development and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation.
The summit will be held in Bishkek on August 31 — September 1.
