Ghalibaf: Strait of Hormuz will be opened only after Tehran’s conditions are met, not under Washington’s threats
Speaker of the Majlis (parliament) of Iran Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, after new strikes by the US Armed Forces on the Islamic Republic, stated that the Strait of Hormuz will be opened only after Tehran’s conditions are met, not under Washington’s threats.
"There is no point in thrashing about senselessly, otherwise you will go under water even deeper: The Strait of Hormuz will open only upon fulfillment of 'agreements with Iran', and not under American threats," Ghalibaf wrote on X.
He emphasized that intimidation and breaking promises from the US no longer go without consequences. "I will say it directly: if you strike, you will be struck in response," Ghalibaf added.
Earlier, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) reported new strikes on targets in the Islamic Republic aimed at weakening Iran’s ability to control the Strait of Hormuz. Explosions were reported in the Iranian port cities of Akkala, Bandar Abbas, Jask, Isfahan, Sirik, and Chabahar, as well as on Abu Musa Island and in some areas of Bushehr province.
