Kazakhstan's Foreign Ministry Expresses Gratitude to Azerbaijan for Assistance in Citizen Evacuation
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Yermek Kosherbayev, held telephone conversations with the heads of foreign policy departments of Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
As reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, the parties discussed the current military-political situation in the Middle East and emphasized the importance of close cooperation amid the crisis.
The head of Kazakhstan's Foreign Ministry thanked Azerbaijan for its constructive cooperation and assistance in the evacuation of Kazakh citizens from Iran.
The participants of the talks reaffirmed their commitment to resolving conflicts exclusively through political and diplomatic means, adhering to international law, and coordinating efforts to ensure regional security and stability.
Following the discussion, the parties expressed readiness to continue cooperation and, if necessary, provide assistance in organizing potential evacuations, maintaining constant contact between foreign policy departments.
Additionally, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan reported that the ministry and the country's overseas diplomatic missions have switched to an enhanced mode of operation due to the escalation in the Middle East. Staff are being dispatched to airports for prompt response and provision of consular assistance.
Due to the closure of airspace in several countries, Kazakh diplomatic missions, in collaboration with tour companies, are arranging temporary accommodation for citizens in hotels. The possibility of launching evacuation flights is also being explored, with priority planned for the elderly, women, and children. Earlier, 50 Kazakh citizens were evacuated from Tehran.
